Topic of the SMF 2010 is Future Energy Security
Demand for electricity is growing. In Switzerland, demand is rising at a rate of 2 percent
per year, with the risk of power shortages as early as 2020. To ensure 24/7 supplies of
electricity for the economy and the population, larger volumes of electricity will need to
be imported. The result is dependency on foreign suppliers, and rising costs. SMF will
present both Swiss and Czech views on the energy market.
